Vodacom Easy2Own is a service provided by Vodacom South Africa which allows Customers to purchase smartphones through payments in instalments. This product offers customers an easy and flexible way to acquire a smart device, all conveniently payable through using airtime to purchase Unlock Bundles to pay off their device.
To purchase any of the unlock bundles, the customer will open the Easy2Own mobile app and tap on the BUY NOW button to open the payment page showing the three types of bundles to be purchased. The customer shall proceed to tap on the Daily, Weekly or Monthly bundle to be purchased, and confirm the purchase on the confirmation pop-up. If the customer has sufficient airtime balance, the purchase shall be made automatically. A payment confirmation notification shall be sent via SMS.
Allocation of the Data and Voice bundle will happen daily in accordance with the Unlock Bundle purchased i.e. Daily Unlock Bundle will have 1 allocation of 100MB and 10Minutes; 7 Day Unlock Bundle will have 1 allocation of 100MB and 10Minutes everyday over 7 days; 30 Day Unlock Bundle will have 1 allocation of 100MB and 10Minutes everyday over 30 days.
Yes, the customer can use this type of airtime to pay for the device.
Bonus or promotional airtime that an Easy2Own Customer might have as an airtime balance cannot be used to purchase the Easy2Own unlock Bundle. The customer should top up airtime with sufficient amounts required to purchase either a daily, weekly, or monthly unlock bundle.
Yes, a customer can buy additional data bundles or airtime using their My Vodacom App, Vodapay or by activating a Vodacom PIN voucher.
The customer’s phone will lock whenever the customer fails to make payment on time. It will only be unlocked one payment has been made.
The customer will track how much time is left before the phone locks by opening Easy2Own App and reading the countdown timer on the homepage. The next date and time of payment is also displayed right below the counter. Customers are always advised to make payment before the timer counts down to zero.
The Easy2Own App is installed automatically when Vodacom DPC gets installed at the store. Once installed, Easy2Own cannot be uninstalled from the phone. It can only be uninstalled automatically when the customer clears the Easy2Own balance payable.
If a customer loses their Easy2Own phone before completing payment, they should call Vodacom Customer support on 082135 IMMEDIATELY to have the phone blocked as per the normal Vodacom process. The customer is still liable for the outstanding balance so we advise the customer takes insurance.
