Something HUGE (bigger than Jessie Kriel’s biceps) is UNFOLDING this September:
It won’t only be Rugby’s greatest rivalry unfolding between the Springboks and the All Blacks – Something HUGE is (quite literally) unfolding at Cellucity too!
Apple’s ‘Flagship Line Up’ of Premium iPhones is on its way, including the new (and very first) foldable Apple iPhone, the iPhone 18 Pro & the Pro Max, rumoured to arrive this September!
The iPhone Fold or iPhone Ultra (all guesswork here – no official name has been announced) is arriving seven years after Samsung released its first foldable smartphone. The iPhone Fold / Ultra will likely be the most expensive iPhone model, with the current price tag suggested to be around $2,500.
The iPhone Fold / Ultra will open and close like a book. Resembling the iPad mini when open, it will use OLED display technology. It will measure around 7.6 inches when opened and 5.3 inches when closed, making it Apple’s thinnest device by far. To ensure the iPhone Fold / Ultra won’t have a noticeable crease, Apple has implemented display improvements, including a strong, durable hinge made from Liquid Metal. The crease is said to be “nearly invisible” when unfolded. It won’t have a notch or a Dynamic Island and some suggest it might not have Face ID at all. Apple could use a Touch ID side button, with a camera in the top-left corner of the display for selfies and a pair of rear cameras (again, all speculation).
Speculation aside, the most telling hint that Apple’s long-awaited foldable phone is on its way can be found within the new interface, the iOS 27. Within the iOS27 code are mentions of “fold-State” and “angle-Degrees.” A source also found a check in the iOS 27 developer beta for how many built-in displays a device has. Because no iPhone currently has dual screens, this is another hint that a multi-screen device is on its way! iOS 27 will also have larger 4×6 widgets, which can fill up an entire iPhone home screen. These will be far more beneficial on the iPhone Fold / Ultra, making it feel like a feature designed with larger (foldable?) iPhone screens in mind.
Some of the new (rumoured) features are:
- More powerful on-device AI model: Apple’s upgraded local AI model needs more memory to process tasks directly on the device
- New Siri voice customisation: Apple has also limited the new Siri AI voice feature to devices with more memory
- The latest A20 2-nanometer chip for up to 15% faster performance
- Smaller Dynamic Island or under-display Face ID
- Enhanced cameras: variable aperture on Pro Max, 24MP front camera, 48MP rear cameras with optical-quality 8x zoom
- Apple C2 modem for improved connectivity
- Brighter displays and design updates compared to current iPhone 17 Pro models
For iPhone 17 buyers, the phone will still support many iOS 27 features, but Apple’s most advanced AI upgrades now sit behind the Pro and Air models. Brilliant news for the older model iPhone users is, according to Forbes, after missing out on iOS 26, Apple will roll out iOS 27 from the iPhone 11 range and up. The 6-year-old device will now have access to the latest software and security patches increasing the software and security support well into 2027!
If upgrading is your chosen option, Cellucity will be the first store to launch a Trade-In Campaign on these Flagship Premium iPhones, so plan for your upgrade now.
Come September, with all the drama UNFOLDING, the Springboks aren’t the only team who will be ready – (view the Springbok 2026 fixtures) – The Cellucity Team will be waiting to ‘get U sorted’ at all of our Nationwide Branches.
We would love to hear from you – Let us know if:
- You are as excited as we are, as to what’s unfolding in September?
- You’ll be joining our waiting list for the first foldable iPhone?
- You think you know what the foldable iPhone will be called?
