Stuff We Love – Wireless Headsets

Everyone has their favourite gadget or toy in their collection – and we at Cellucity are no different. With a wide range of gadgets, accessories and cool tech it is no surprise that our staff would pick more than one. That being said, music is always a firm favourite so, I went in search of the top staff picks in our wireless audio range – here are our top 4.

1) Apple Airpods
If you have an already established Apple Ecosystem these cool little buds make sense. A beautiful, clean design coming encased in a sleek charging case it is no wonder these guys are amongst the firm faves here at HQ. With quick tap access to calls and Siri, the Airpods offer rich quality sound with 24-hour battery life. Seamless switching between your Apple devices makes the Apple Airpods an excellent companion for any Apple lover. Android user? No worries, these pair with Android as well. The wireless connectivity allows you to pop these in your ears and forget about the world. For a more secure fit – pair with our Baseus straps.

I love that the Apple Airpods are made for Apple and that the pairing process is so easy. The sound quality is good and the fit secure” Matt (CCS Admin Head Office).

2) Plantronics BackBeat Fit
Designed for the athletes out there, the wireless Plantronics Backbeat Fit is a sturdy option to see you through most physical activities – but they also look great and come in a variety of colours. Made from flexible, tangle-free rubber material the BackBeat Fit is a favourite especially with our runners. A simple and fuss-free design – simply pair with your phone via Bluetooth and off you go. With 8-hour battery life, hard wearing and sweat-proof design you can feel reassured that no matter how hard you push, the Plantronics BackBeat Fit will have your back.

If you are looking for immersive sound, then look no further. The wireless Plantronics BackBeat Pro 2 is a luxurious design meant for comfort. The over-ear headset allows you to forget about the world around you while you work or when you relax. Incoming or outgoing calls have superior sound quality and are a convenient way of communicating while working. Flicking between songs or pause/play could not be any easier and contributes to the quality of the build. With up to 24 hours of use, the Backbeat Pro 2 charges up quickly so if you find yourself in a pinch, it won’t be for long.
I love this headset and use it every day. Sound quality is unmatched and the design fantastic.” Lesa (Online Sales).

4) The E’nod Mini Ring – True Wireless Headset
Available in two varieties the Enod headsets are coming up in the ranks and for good reason. Coming a sexy grey or cheeky red the Enod Mini Ring True Wireless headset offers a secure fit and minimalistic design which comes in a fantastic charging case. With a sweatproof rating of IPX4, the headphones come with three different silicone plug sizes ensuring maximum comfort. Calling is no problem with these guys – simple easy and no fuss. If you are looking for added stereo calling, have a look at the latest model – the Mini Ring Pro.“These earbuds are great for training in the gym. I also like the fact that they are unique – not everyone has them” Alex (Manager Cellucity V&A Waterfront)

The trend towards wireless is clear but for those who need a spare set in their bag or for travelling our range of wired headsets are just as extensive and offer great sound and build.

Car Safety – Car Kits

The Western Cape Government just dropped a new texting while driving advert. Its good –  Really Good! (If you haven’t seen it, you really should take a look – Definitely food for thought.

As someone who sits in traffic on a daily basis I may just have seen it all. From the “eyes down” texter to the erratic “on a call and not concentrating” speedster. Why? With so many options out there for handsfree there really is no excuse. Let’s pop our treasure trunk and have a squizz at what Cellucity has available. Continue reading Car Safety – Car Kits

Plantronics is an American audio electronics company founded in 1961. Much like some other well-known start-ups of that era, Plantronics was started in a tiny garage in California – by two airline pilots who set out to improve the headsets used in commercial aviation.

Plantronics made world history when Neil Armstrong uttered one of the most famous words in human history “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind” through a Plantronics headset. Continue reading Plantronics

Bang & Olufsen Beoplay A1

Long at the forefront of creating audiophile pleasure centers, Bang & Olufsen, those Danish sound masters, continue to produce exceptional quality speakers and headsets which are always complimented with Scandinavian design notes.

Beautiful objects making beautiful noise. At Cellucity we are going to be stocking a select range of headsets and speakers from B&O at our premium outlets around the country. The Beoplay A1 is the smallest of their portable speakers and weighing only 600g is perfect for your packback or beach bag.

With an aluminum speaker grill and a warm polymer base, the simple design is very desirable, and works well being played lying flat or hanging from it’s bespoke leather strap, thanks to it’s ambient True 360 sound.

The A1 is at the top end of the premium portable speaker market, and in our opinion outperforms the Beats Pill, and is the top contender against the Bose Soundlink (2&3) range. Providing a much fuller sound and minimal distortion at higher volume and base levels than your average portable speaker, the A1 sets the bench high, thanks to it’s 2 X 140W Peak Power and 2 X 30W Class D Woofer.

It is a greater speaker, and it can also double up as a handsfree for calls and being splash and dust resistant, ideal for everyday use and with a battery life of upto 24 hours is perfect for those long lazy summer days, or crisp evening’s at AfrikaBurn.

At R5,099 it is probably one of the most expensive portable speakers on the market, but well worth the price to put a soundtrack to your life, wherever you go.
